The play Antigone is the kind of sequel to Oedipus Rex and I can totally see it with all the death and tragedy involved.
Antigone is our heroine in this tragic tale. She is a kick-ass girl which made this story way more interesting. She fought for what she believed in. Both her brothers died in Thebes' civil war and one is honored while the other is disgraced. Antigone wants to properly bury the disgraced one but the new ruler of Thebes, Creon, is like "No. If anyone buries the body, THEY WILL DIE!" But Antigone buries him anyway. I really like that she acts on her own beliefs even though it will be her downfall.
So Creon finds her burying the brother and she was sent to die. But Tiresias, a blind prophet, warns Creon against this saying that bad things will happen to him if he follows through with his plans. But Creon ignores the prophet and Antigone, Creon's son and Antigone's betrothed, and Creon's wife end up dead at the end of the play. I think you should have listened to the prophet Creon.
Antigone was really an interesting story. You have a stubborn woman who just wants to bury her brother and a man who won't let her do it that ends is lots of death. The idea of family love is shown throughout the story and I thought that that was really cool thing for a tragedy. Not only can "true love" weave tragic tales kind of thing. Love is in everyone's life and can greatly influence your life as well whether it be in life or death.
